In April 2008, Jwaala was invited to participated in the Silicon Valley based, Finovate Startup conference in San Francisco. This event is put on by the same great people behind the Online Banking Report and Netbanker blog.
It turns out Jwaala walked away with the Best of Show award among the 40 companies that presented! Companies including Mint, Wesabe, Andera, and Prosper. This was a very welcome surprise to us, so thanks to all those in the audience that voted for us.
If your interested, our 6 minute Finovate video is posted here.

The fine folks at CUISPA are having their first conference of the year in February, cleverly dubbed CUISPA 2008. In general, we love attending this conference because the credit union attendees are IT folks that are truly there to learn something and exchange information. This is not a boondoggle conference. This is a meat and potatoes conference where all attendees leave smarter and more connected than when they arrived. And for us, as an added bonus, the conference is right in our backyard this time! Austin TX. That’s nice, but we would travel to this conference in a heartbeat.
Look forward to seeing everyone there.
The fine folks at Callahan and Associates hosted a great webinar today about the future of online banking and PFM (personal financial management) in particular.
Well, it turns out the majority of the webinar was about Jwaala MoneyTracker, yay!
This was all presented by the VP of Operations (Karen Pollack) Amplify FCU. Amplify has been live to members with MoneyTracker since March of 2007, and has received great feedback from members, as well as a lot of credit union community accolades.
So thanks Callahans!
For those of you not familiar with Callahans, they are the goto place for information on news, information, education, and trends for the credit union market. If you need info and insight into credit unions, Callahan’s where you start.
Note: If you missed the webinar, you can always watch the replay (sorry, you have to pay for it).
The great folks at CUTech called us today, turns out one of the Credit Unions we are working closely with recommended CUTech take a look at us.
It looks like the CUTech folks are knee deep in understanding/pushing the whole idea of web 2.0 online banking. In general, we try to avoid using the “web 2.0″ moniker as it just seems to be overused and turns some people off. But, that said, it is an apt high level description of MoneyTracker.
The timing could not be more perfect, as we will have just finished up at the invite only Finovate 2007 conference, and will have a slew of great additions to MoneyTracker all ready to go.
The conference is in Seattle the week of October 15 2007. Hope to see you there.

The folks over at the NetBanker blog are at it again. It seems that Jim Bruene is a fan of the Demo conference and also of the TechCrunch blog.
For those of you not familiar with the Demo conference, the concept is brilliant and simple …
That’s right folks, no PowerPoint, no slides, just demo. And let’s be honest here, if you can’t describe your product and make your points in a 6 minute demo, then you probably need to rethink how you describe your product and make your points.
So back to Jim Bruene and what NetBanker is doing. Jim is putting on a conference called Finovate 2007, and it’s modeled after the Demo conference (and the new TechCrunch20 conference). However, this conference is limited to technologies that are relavant to the finance industry … what a great idea !
We are happy that Jwaala (specifically MoneyTracker) has been selected as one of the innovative solutions to present at Finovate 2007. So go ahead and signup, and we will see you there.
Just as a reminder, the NetBanker blog folks are the same ones that awarded MoneyTracker their best of the web award back in June of 2007.

Jwaala will present at this summer’s CUISPA conference in Boston. Since these CUISPA conferences are chock full of the key technology and IT professionals from a wide range of Credit Unions, this should be a great venue for us and our MoneyTracker product.
We have found that often times it is the IT side of the Credit Union that ends up being the driving force behind choosing and bringing forward new technologies. And hence for a product like MoneyTracker, it is often a key IT player that champions MoneyTracker and brings the technology to the executive team for consideration.
For those of you all not familiar with CUISPA … CUISPA is a national association of credit union information technology professionals focused on improving security and risk management through cooperation. It’s a great forum for Credit Union IT pros (especially those with a security focus) to come together and learn best practices.
